I have built a tree of my interest but MEGA X displays an error when saving the image as PDF file! I was wondering how can i save/ copy the tree into a word file.
It is impossible to tell what the problem might be without more information on the precise error, but I will point out that MEGA can export trees in a common format (Newick) that can be displayed in a variety of tree viewers (such as FigTree), from where you can export the tree as a figure.
unless you need to modify the tree with a graphic software (e.g. FigTree), you can directly save the tree as a picture (PNG, TIFF) and insert that in your word document.
From the Tree Explorer window in MEGA X you can select "Image" and then select the file format you prefer between .png and .tiff.
My experience with tables, graphs and other graphic compositions of my own is that I first turn them into jpg pictures with a converter and then insert the image in any text file that accepts the insertion of images. I just did it for a big table that includes Maya glyphs. The table is now a picture. I have kept the table as it was built for me to be able to modify it, and the picture now is permanent, unchangeable, and it can navigate in any text document, word or pdf, without being cut or modified.
