As per my understanding about Ayurveda and its formulations, majority of them acts by central axis (for instance HPA) and even there are many compounds which suppose to be less bioavailable according to lipinski's rule and other pharmaceutical filters but in actual they are more bioavailable and shows dose dependent activities....
So the absorption of ferrous from stomach is depend on may factors like time, food, prakruti, etc.
So Invivo study will be much better option rather than searching for invitro studies especially for ayurvedic formulation ....

dose your formulation contain Fe??? if yes then in which form it is???
If not then what are your invivo result? depend on that what are the components present in your formulation probable way of absorption and so on...
had u discussed with your ayurvedic scientist about the Ayurvedic pharmacokinetics of your formulation, if so you may correlate data about its PAK (Avasthapak and Nishtapak) and its 3 different products during its movement through Rasvahstrotas to Raktavahstrotas......

I think instead if using any kind of animal models we see the effects in patients with anaemia and comparing it with the standard treatment of Ferrous/ferric salts.
If so, then before proceeding further for clinical study, its better if researcher do pharmaceutical standardization along with method validation and batch reproducibility ......
