Thanks for your answer. With ´´cohesive elements´´ you mean a solid part with a really small thickness or an offset mesh with zero thickness? Which material properties (section) should I set to those elements? If I create those cohesive elements and add the cohesive behavior (with damage initiation, evolution and stabilization) should I add one interaction between the cohesive elements and the layer above, and another interaction between the cohesive element and the layer under?

Thanks again for your reply. I have created many models that use the surface to surface contact with cohesive behavior, but none of them converges. Whenever I change the cohesive behavior for a tie constraint, everything runs really smooth. I have tried switching every single parameter I can think of, but the error ´´too many attempts made for this increment´´ always appear.

About the zero thickness elements, I have also tried them but when the simulation converges, the stress build-up only happens in the first layer an I get the error ´´There are 2 unconnected parts in this model´´. Am I missing something?

I have attached both models below. Could you please have a look? This model is really important for me. Maybe I am missing something simple.
