I am using Generalized Linear Models (GLM) to model influence of various explanatory variables on traffic crash frequency. After modelling, it is useful to interpret influence of these variables. I have read that elasticity or marginal effects are used to do it - but not many authors use them (both). Could someone please provide source data and results so that I could test my calculations on them? Thank you very much.
Do you have access to MATLAB? The tutorial section on generalized linear models is excellent. The section on generalized linear regression should be consulted. There is a section called diagnostics. In transport, many papers have provided help on elasticity concepts (maybe see works that reference the classic text by Domenchich and McFadden?)

For Logit models NLOGIT have option for the estimation of elasticity and marginal effects (or) You can use R which you can call with single line command.
Thank you all for your advices. I was further searching and found lots of references to STATA software package, where MARGINS command is used to estimate marginal effects. I wonder whether there is something similar available in SPSS or SAS? Does anybody know? Thank you.

Hello, Can you please tell the command to calculate Elasticity in R? I found a command MARGINS which calculate the marginal effects (dydx) but not elasticises.
