How can I remove the antibiotic in a usual cell culture? Now, I need to work the same cells without antibiotics in the same prepared media. Spin down the culture, and changed the media could be enough?
Steev, centrifugate and change the media it could be enough depending on the thoroughness you need to work with in your experiment. You can perfom an aditional wash step spining down the culture and using the media without antibiotic/isotonic buffer (i.e PBS) and centrifugate again. Finally resuspend cells in the media of interest
To remove antibiotics from your cell culture you just need to change the medium by discarding the antibiotic containing medium and washing cells with PBS and then adding antibiotics free medium to cells. This works perfectly in transfection experiments requiring antibiotic free medium.
