Dear Friends,

I am currently doing some experiment where i prepared some nanomaterial and now trying to degrade dye molecule under visible and UV light condition. I need help regarding setting up the experiment to do mechanism study. From literature i have seen the most easy way to do it to use some radical scavenger and observe rate of degradation to identify what kind of radical is influencing the degradation. However, in I could not find how much of the radical scavenger i should add in the experiment? Does the amount even play any role on the experiment?

Suppose i am doing experiment of 50 mL 0.01 mmol/L dye solution with 0.1 g/L catalyst. Now how much radical scavenger like, quinone, i should add in the dye solution.

Also ESR is an analytical method to do study of free radical. However, I do,t have ESR in my department so if i want to send sample for analysis in other institute, what are the precaution i should take while sending the sample for analysis (At best i can do the analysis the next day if i take prior appointment).

Thanks you for your help. Any input form people working in this field is appreciated.

With regards
