Dear colleagues,

do you have any experience with spreading / dissolving slime of green filamentous algae?

I would like to focus on the algae associated with the genera Draparnaldia and Chaetophora and I'd like to isolate individual cells for PCR, which complicates the slime of these algae.

What do you think of using SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) or some of Tween series solutions?
