How is it to differentiate Fecal Proteases if they are from human or bacterial source?
There are no specific protease inhibitors for either?
I don't think it will be possible to do this at the enzyme activity level because of overlapping specificities.
At the protein sequence level, it might be possible to do it by a proteomics method, if you get a clean enough sample of protein.
I agree with Adam that at the activity level (by inhibition), you won't have much luck, unless you have some specific protease in mind.
What could you do is to try to purify proteins and sequence by mass spec.
Do you even expect to have human proteases in feces?
There are countless human proteases in stool! Some as debris, some pancreatic. It is even used to test some human disorders (elastase)
