I coated iron oxide nanoparticles with dextran to use as a drug delivery vehicle. Radiolabeled bombesin peptide is conjugated to dextran in the surface of the nanoparticle in order to detect cancer cells. How is it possible to determine the bombesin peptide concentration which is radiolabeled?
You can make a standard curve of the counts you get from different concentration of your peptides on a suitable detector like a liquid scintillation counter and then test your nanoparticle/peptide solution. You can evaluate the concentration from the standard curve. You did not mention what isotope is used. It might be worth doing both the experiments on the same day depending on the radioisotope used. This is because something like P32 with a very short half life will decay significantly over a few days and so a standard curve done with the peptide a few days back wont be valid. On the other side with something like tritium which has a very long half life you should be fine.

Read my previous answer above, use a liquid scintillation counter. You do not need to know the extent of labelling here. All you need is a standard curve with the free peptide.
