I want to design primers against certain regions of some genes for genotyping and SNP studies. What things should I take into considerations? What are some resources for making my work easier?

The main conditions to be followed in primer design are as follows:
- The ideal annealing temperature (TM) of primer is between 55 and 60 °C
- The difference between the TM of the primers is a maximum of 2 °C
- The content of G and C is between 30 and 80%

Primer-Blast is quite good. It combines primer 3 and a blast search to test for specificity: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/tools/primer-blast/
We use Primer 3 for designing and is quite good. Thanks Mark for recommending Primer blast, i will try that.
