I am curious about the distribution of nanoparticles in the anaerobic digestion system, especially, in the wastes. And also, how to deal with the wastes with these pollutants after the digestion ?
The use of nanoparticles and their disposal is required to be researched more. But particularly in AD, their safe method of dealing is their recycling. In literature or even my PhD research concluded that the application of magnetite NPs have positive impact and these could be recycled. The other problem in this scenario must be kept in mind, the properties of these utilized NPs specially after 50 or 60 days of digestion.
To me recycling should be encouraged and researched further.
Hope to have you more efficient ideas to deal with it. I am also eagerly to follow this solution.
If I am not wrong, we can pass the material through a suitable adsorbents and specifically nano-porous adsorbents, we will be able to solve the query of removal of nano particles.
Dear Asad I took a little demo to collect NPs (magnetite) by magnetization (See the picture of it). I am working on their recycling mechanism. I myself didn't find any literature elsewhere on it. If I found it or I come up with an publication, I would recommend you. I believe you shall share if you have too.
Thank you so much for sharing details. I am also interested to work on recycling of NPs from organic wastes. I would be really happy if we collaborate in future.
