"A 10-point Likert-type scale was used to minimize biased findings on patient satisfaction. A 5-point Likert-type scale does not have the sensitivity to differentiate items in the satisfaction measurement (Park, 2007). Also, a 10-point Likert-type scale significantly produced less conceivable results—i.e., less positively falsifiable results—compared to a 5- or 7-point Likert-type scale in the customer sentiment survey (Dawes, 2008). This information suggests that a 10-point Likert type scale format is more reliable than the others in satisfaction measurement. That is, precise distinctions are realizable, which can help to accurately reflect participants’ true experiences." (Park, 2017, pp. 35-36).
