I just want to ask about the error that I always encounter when doing fea analysis in ANSYS APDL. The error is about the element distortion. When the best method to solve this kind of problem?
please could you provide further details about the analysis in which this error occurs?
First of all the error " element high distorted ....." is not a generalised one. It depends on the what kind of FEA analysis you are trying to achieve. Next if you are solving a large displacement problem (nonlinear analysis) then you may have to try incrementing the step size.
But seeing error it seems to be a mesh related issue. You can try to improve the aspect ratio of the distorted element by improving the mesh.
This can be done by various ways, one of them is Adaptive meshing
If it's a contact problem then try to improve the mesh density (finer mesh) surrounding the point of contact.
It can further be clariifed if you can share detailed description of your problem
