I have already done this co-simulation but between Simulink and FLUX-2D. Co-simulation between Simulink and MAXWELL-2D has been done (see the attached paper).

In addition to using ANSYS Simplorer, you can build an m-file in matlab that links both Simulink and ANSYS using visual basic commands. These commands can be extracted from script option in Maxwell.
A better way to link a finite element model with Simulink is to use Infolitica Magnet. It has a Simulink Plug in tool that can be used very easy to make the link. In addition, it provides faster solution. See the attached paper.
