I have a matlab program.
There is an error message
There may be a singularity in the solution. If the model is correct, try reducing the step size (either by reducing the fixed step size or by tightening the error tolerances).
What should I do?
I tried to reduce the step size and to change the solver but the problem still exists?
Often one has to build up the model gradually, starting from something simple, almost trivial. Matlab is indeed sensitive to the type of solver. But also sensitive if you mix from different libraries. Power electronics for instance does have a lot of discontinuities (diodes that stop conducting) and solvers generally do not like it. Simulating tools in general do generally not like inductors in series (for instance a three-phase filter), capacitors in parallel, capacitors in parallel to a voltage source and such things. Some series or parallel resistors may help.
This is normally because you have a situation of division by zero. If you know that your system is bound in amplitude then that is probably a case where you have a fraction and both numerator and denominator tend to zero in a certain situation (such as sin(ax)/x, for example, which can be solved using L'Hôspital). The simplest solution os to shift the position of the steps carefully to avoid the singularity in the denominator.
It's a motor model using Z domain, What is the strange that when i put a load to the motor model it's working without no problem. But if i remove the load, then a singularity occurs.
