I am doing an analytical modal analysis based on CPLT and Ritz polynomials, is it any way to correlate the obtained natural modes to their corresponding ones from numerical modal analysis of the same structure ?
The numerical modal analysis is done using ANSYS while the analytical one is done using MATLAB. I tried to blot them side by side from the same perspective, but I need more confident method
Should be possible to dump the results to a third party program from both Ansys and Matlab. E.g. using text files and import them in Excel or any other program with plotting capabilities. Or just plot both datasets in MATLAB. If you really want to push the limits, plot the results in an x-y plot. If they are absolutely similar, you have a straight line of dots.
It is some how hard to be done, the numerical model modal matrix dimensions depends on the element size and number of nodes of the model, while analytical model was done based on CPLT and Ritz polynomials which led to different modal matrix dimensions (actually much less)
