For an example, 1mg/L of copper ions was spiked in to a system containing water and soil. After few day, the concentration of copper ions in water and in sediment were determined after acid digestion. How to calculate whether the input of copper ions is equal to the output where consist water phase and soil phase? Is it using mass balance theory to calculate?

A0 is the concentration of copper in the solution at the initial time, mg / ml
At is concentration of copper in the solution after the sorption through time t, mg / ml
V- solution volume, ml
m- is the mass of soil, mg
