I did mismatch distribution analysis on a population named popA in DnaSP and it succeed, but when I used Arlequin to do the same analysis, I can't get the result, and the file wrote "mismatch distribution didn't converge after 2000 steps". Can anybody know which step went wrong? Thanks

Which type of data do you have? May be the problem comes from the input file you have generated for Arlequin. You can refer to the Arlequin manual and see how your input file should look like according to the type of data you have (DNA sequences, Genotypic data, microsatellite or RFLP). In addition, you can read in the same manual the requirements for the mismatch distribution analysis.

It hasnt solved. I have DNA sequences data and I tried to follow every single word on its manual but it did not work.

I can't give you a guaranteed answer as I am just learning about this myself but I have used arlequin etc extensively and I would speculate two suggestions:
1) It may be that you simply need more RAM to complete the computation
2) It seems in some cases that convergence cannot be forced if sequences are too differentiated or there is too much missing data etc.
I'd be interested if either of these make a difference - good luck!

1. Make sure the RAM capacity is enough
2. You have to link the DNAsp and Arlequin file to notepad (I'd say to use notepad++), They have format to running the output
3. Use the XML output
Hi， have you solved the problem ? i also didn´t get my parameters of MMD in Arlquin. I folowed the manual step by step, but it hasn´t work . I think the problem is some cases is that sequences are too differentiated .
