Hi all,

The concentration of PAH added to the effluent (20 ml) before extraction was 0.05 ppm. This was extracted using DCM ( Dichloromethane), followed by concentrating it using rotary evaporator (Thermo scientific, Savant RVT5105). I was able to extract 52 ml of DCM + PAH , which was concentrated to 2 ml . After GC/MS analysis the concentration of the individual PAH was analysed.

The problem is that the concentration of individual PAH after GC/MS analysis is doubled (somewhat)by using standard calibration. Also, the extraction efficiency for Napthalene is always low(being most volatile). I want to know how to calculate the correct concentration of these PAH present in the sample. and how to improve extraction efficiency for my experiments.

Thanks in advance.
