Some journals give you the option to publish free under a subscription and this simply means that those who can access your published work are those who have paid a subscription fee to the journal. Despite this, some of the journals also give you the option of sharing your work for free for a limited time before restricting access and after one or two years, you can have access to upload and share freely again.
In your opinion, is it better to publish an article in a closed-access journal like Elsevier or Springer, or do you prefer to publish your work in other low-impact factor journals with open access?
These are just some of the free (open-access) journals. Many journals are supported by scientific associations and operate with an open-access policy. MDPI publications also publish all journals in open-access format.
