I am trying to determine if an inhibitor "X" is blocking the early events in a virus "Y". The cell culture, incubation with the inhibitor and the virus infection are standarized in the lab. I run a control in which the cells are non-treated with the inhibitor and infected as usual to see the effect by flow cytometry (The virus code GFP after the entry in the cells). My question is: what is the best mathematical approach to calculate the effect of the inhibitor "X" on the virus entry?. I am doing a simple "rule of three" where the virus infection in presence of inhibitor is taken as the 100%. Is there another way to estimate that?. Thank you for your reply.
