It's a coating with few micrometers in thickness. There are equations for thickness prediction. But for using them, I need to know the coating density. I'm using spray coating method. The thickness of coating is not uniform and has a normal distribution profile and decreases with getting away from the central point radially.

The are several methods that can give you density predictions,
1. Measure the weight of the substrate before coating, then to accurately weigh it again after coating, using the area coated and the average thickness you can calculate the density of the coating.
2. Do cross sections of the coating and try and evaluate the porosity using an TEM.

I would also recommend the weighting method it is the easiest way if you have a precision balance.
Due to the fact that you are applying the coating by a spray technique, I seriously doubt that you will be able to obtain an accurate density for the coating due to the uneven nature of the application. It would be extremely difficult to be able to determine an accurate average thickness and consequently coating density.
