Hello everyone,

I am calculating the deflection at a random location on frame with only lateral joint load. For Linear Analysis, I used the formula below for deflection at the location x on beams or columns

Deflection (x) = Delta1 + Theta1*x + 1/EI *(M1/2*x^2 + V1/6*x^3)

with Delta1, Theta1, M1 and V1 is lateral displacement, rotation, moment and shear force at beam or column start end.

The above formula worked well comparing to SAP2000 for Linear Static Analysis. However, If I include P-delta analysis, this formula gave wrong results comparing to SAP2000.

So, how to calculate Deflection at a random location on frame with P-delta effect?
