I agree with Vladislav, but he does not answer the question on stresses, which can be found following the same very simplified approach: bending stresses are taken over by the faces : M = +- N.h (thickness of the core) and shear force is evenly distributed over the core thickness (with very small stiffness). As I supposed that Volvo is interested in cars, this approach is largely sufficient.
