Following is my thought on applying prestrain in Abaqus Standard.

In order to create a prestrain in your model, use two different steps (step-1 and step-2) before your actual loading step. In step-1, apply a strain to which you want to prestrain your model. You can do this by applying a displacement or load. In step-2, remove the applied load or displacement. Once you remove the load, all the elastic strains will be recovered but the unrecovered plastic strains will remain there in the model. Now you can apply your actual load using a separate step and whatever you apply, it will be applied on a prestrained material.

Please let me know once you tried the above. Or is there any other approach to apply prestrain in Abaqus.

In my case, when applying the prestrain in Abaqus, I gave the material a coefficient of linear expansion and gave it a temporary temperature in the initial state to expand or contract it, and that was the prestrain.
