I have been trying to add the joint axial stiffness and bending stiffness into the model in ABAQUS (please check the attached image, the nodes are the joint). I have been trying to add these properties into the model using the engineering features in ABAQUS but failed to get the expected deformations. After studying in this model I have to run a whole geodesic dome with bending and axial stiffness please give an insight about the definitions of joint characteristics in abaqus for a wire model.

Please try to use connector element and apply elasticity and other mechanical properties to the specific joint. Even you can apply the failure point to your model. You can read connector library of ABAQUS in documentation.
