I want to protect my aldehyde group in p bromobenzaldehyde.I used ethylene glycol, PTSA and tolune. But refluxing makes the solution a pale green.why?

I used dean stark trap... But refluxing is happening in dean stark trap at about 145oC.

Protection can be done in mild condition with dry DCM at ambient T, I guess. Might be better than refluxing.
