Apparently, a major source of stress for teachers in boarding schools is interpreting the needs of students. Principal among these needs are language, symbolism and emotion. For a teacher in close, steady contact with students in a boarding school, the stress associated with interpreting students' needs is sharper than it is for teachers in day schools, mainly because day school teachers have much less contact with students.

Thank you James for providing pertinent information regarding my question.I have served in boarding schools for nearly two decades ,teaching maths and performing other duties.I found many incidences related to health and psychological well being of teachers in boarding schools.some teachers in boarding schools were struck by heart attack and other cardiovascular diseases at a very young age.I myself suffered from moderate to severe depression.I have found teachers suffered from mood swings which they develop while serving in boarding schools. Most of the teachers in boarding schools use cognitive short cuts to understand and solve problems regarding students. In addition teachers in boarding schools suffer from social isolation for extended period of time and pay very little attention to their family life. There is very little balance between the personal and professional life of a boarding school teacher. In staff room discussion they show extremely critical attitude towards every aspect of life.Especially they show considerable resentment towards students who are facing academic or other personality issues.I have recently completed msc in applied psychology which help me a lot to understand cognitive and behavior attitude of teachers in boarding schools.
