My first choice in making decisions is to improve the quality of living to my family and how to make them happy.

It depends on your stage in life. As a child, most of our choices were guided by our parents. As we grow up, we tend to make our own choices based on experience (combination of those from friends, education, etc).

Guiding kids is important to keep them away from troubles, and advice on their best options.
