Excessive use of social media by teenagers can only successfully teach them to make quick and irrational decision.
Depending on the means used, the people you communicate with, the subject - can influence the positive, as well as the negative communication in the social media.
Teenagers have always been dependent on the opinions of friends, acquaintances (to a lesser extent relatives), etc. Now this dependence has been supplemented by social networks and the Internet as a whole. The use of this phenomenon to influence and even control them is already noticeable.
I believe that the addiction of children and adolescents to social media may lead to poor thinking.

Not only this, now a days children's and teenagers's tendency is to search solution from Search Engine (like Google etc.). They don't want to apply the mind.
I think social media is impacting upon them more negatively than positively based on the kind of things they are exposed to...their addiction to it and so on. It may solve some problems less effortly if it’s linked to business marketting or conveying some kind of information regarding showbiz, social platforms and so on but in terms of technical stuffs i think it may not. The ideology of social media as a platform for fun says it all
Addictions all sort of harmful to anybody including youngsters and would lead to reduce analytical thinking and can expose all who are addicted all sort of wrong doings.

It depends on how they use it. Teen agers curiosity affects badly childern playful may affect their creativity leading to dependence and loose thinking ability.
Online -mania is for instant gratification and fame , so it is not at all surprising if teenagers are addicted to the new norms !!!
