How the ratios are made in case of drug and polymer are mixed in some research?

I am seeking for help.... Can anybody guide me if a drug is mixed with certain polymers via physical mixing, solvent evaporation, lyophilisation, kneading etc then on which basis their ratios are decided e.g drug:polymer 1:polymer 2???
