The pI of Histidine is about 7.5 which is almost equal to the physiological pH. So the total charge of Histidine will be neutral at physiological pH. Then how the His provides positive charge inside the cell ?
The physiological Ph is 7.4 which is below the pi of his hence it exist as cation.
Thank you sir....
At pH 7.4, only about 0.05% of the Histidine will be charged. But 99.95% will be neutral.
