I want to do acoustic analysis of a Catalytic Converter, which is generally used in all vehicles now a days. I want to know the Sound pressure loss (dB) in Cat-Con.
I am facing problem in modelling of Cat-Con because of its porous structure.
I am familiar with acoustic analysis in COMSOL. Is this easier in ANSYS?
As in my view ansys is best option to deal with this kind of problem although its can be deal with comsol too.I did a analysis of catalytic converter over ansys i used icem for mesh generation and fluent for solver & for geometry modelling used solid works.

By the way It will be easy to deal this case if you provide more details about your analysis specially about sound loss in cat-con.

I have done some CFD in porous structure in COMSOL and there is an option in COMSOL to provide porosity of the solid geometry. You don't have to necessarily create porous structure if I get your question correctly. If you simplify your problem by doing something like that, it might be quicker. Also, I find the examples provided by COMSOL people quite useful if you haven't looked at them already.
However, it might be something different that you are trying to do for which you might consult COMSOL experts in COMSOL.
