In Indian market fuel economy is important. Will removal of muffler affect the back pressure and engine design, thereby increasing fuel economy.
I did simple analysis of a theoretical muffler approximated to a car size, and predicted the values of Sound Pressure Level and reduction in SPL.
Not from experience this is just a suggestion :
Why do not u try covering the internal surface of the pipe with glass wool !
or making perforations in the surface area of the tail pipe !
Ahmed Hesham - Adding glass wool is simple method, but thickness required may be more. Making perforations on tail pipe surface, I am thinking of that, just want some guidance.
Try to make simople model and try small holes to make perforations then check your transmission loss
I was thinking for a long time of using what so called a smart resonator.
that automatically changes its size based on excitation, i made a literature research about that and found some people used a mechanical way, but i am thinking of using an electric way .. we can discuss it in details if you like the idea
Yasser Elnemr - I don't know about smart resonator, I will search for that. But even if smart resonator is used, the back pressure will appear. According to current technology, Cat-Con is used in almost every vehicle, so if back pressure due to Cat-Con is sufficient, then there may be no need of muffler.
