I have this protein with 287 residues for which the instability index is 56 as computed by Protparam, this is more than 40 so it makes this protein unstable. I want to know about the reliability of Protparam and also is there any other software that could be used to know about the stability of proteins by their amino acid sequence?
Protparam is quite accurate but of course still dependent on probabilities.

Yes, Protparam is reliable, but this is very basic analysis to find the stability of the proteins by sequence.
Dynamics approach could be helpful to find the accurate stability and flexibility of the protein sequence.
Many tools and web servers are present.
