You can easily use a stateNew to access the energy or damage variables output in obd file. Just remember to mark sdv variables for field output in cae file.

thank you for your answer. stateNew is used to output the SDV variables but how the energy as it is the history variable ? I am using enerInternNew(i) = enerInternOld(i)+ stressPower / density(i) to update the internal energy. Can you show me the further syntax to output it through stateNew.

Ok! Now I think I understand you problem.

It is easy, first when you are editing the history output, you need to change the domain to set (first you must know the set of your interest. It could be the whole model if you want), then select sdv under state/field/user/time if you pass the energy as a state variable for an specific integration point. To use the state variable, just make stateNew(i)=enerInterNew(i). At last, check if ALLIE is marked.

Moreover, can you tell me how can I output ALLDMD (damage energy) from the VUMAT ? I mean which keyword to use like I use enerInterNew to obtain ALLIE for my VUMAT. I can't find a keyword corresponding to damage energy.

hi martin, my problem was not ALLDMD but internal energy as it is a function of whole model. but yes i know ALLDMD can be found out by summing up the damage energy inside the VUMAT. and output the state variable for the same.
