I've only got my own experiences and those of my friends to go on......personally,I cannot thank my parents enough for what I have.
Their constant help and encouragement to do the best I can,and to then put me through university,and to support in other ways after I qualified.
My children have also been a source of help and support,and if in some way I've contributed to their own successes by the same methods,then I'm happy.
My partner constantly reminds me that I can do things whenever I have doubts,and her faith in me is amazing.
So yes.....family to me,has a very big part to play and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to them.

My family has much support for my professional success. I can't forget the sacrifices of my parents when I was a student. After marriage, the support and sacrifice of my wife and also my children are very high. Especially the sacrifice of my wife is unforgettable for me.

In my case, zero help. I didn't want to do what they planned for me. As an ultimate compromise, they propose me to join army. I thought it was a painful joke and ran away.
I have realized what a pivotal roll my family has played in my life. I have come to understand how blessed I am to live in the family that I live in and to have such a close support group at any given time. Then I began to think about how different my life would be if I didn't grow up in such a loving and supporting family. My family has played such a big part in the successful person that I am today and I am so grateful

Family support is the ideal constellation, e.g. high valuation of education and learning. Not everybody is born into such a favorable environment. Sometimes, only self-help, good luck and strong faith are the recepy as personal challenge and human growth are coupled.
Very good question. No one can be successful without the support of the family. I am successful on account of full dedication and complete support of my mother and my wife. For years together I have studied and received almost 18 degrees/diplomas and reached to the post of Dean purely due to her care. She has been always helping me in saving my time, takes care of my diet and all other work of family including financial management is with her so that I can spare time for academics research of my students. Even the students who visit me she treats with snacks and tea/ coffee. My reputation is due to her as she is socially very practical too and guide me at all such events
It goes without saying that I achieved God's support that I could get kind hearted mother and care taking wife. Indians are known for emotions and love, respect and regards. I am not only Indian but again Gujarati - they are known to be very friendly and loving by heart They are extremely supportive to others.

Yes agreed - the family's sacrifices & contributions are priceless looking back the "lonely" research journey that I was going through. Giving due credits to them e.g. in PhD thesis acknowledgement etc. are a must in my personal opinion because their silent support behind us are making who we are today.

Absolutely i agree with ur statement but in my case, my parents are 40% because they are uneducated people bt i respect them due to their emotional support that given to me. For me it is a big contribution and enough for me to say they are such a wonderful n understanding parents.
