Siling haba is a variation of Capsicum annuum var longum. The capsaicin extracted will be tested against aphids to test its insecticidal properties. Someone suggested that I should use 5ml/g or 2g of fresh material but I forgot to ask for references. Can you include references when you answer this question? Thank you
I would use Google Scholar (search for "google scholar" using any web browser, it is free). I would then search for papers that involve "plant extracts". Basically all you need are any papers that describe methods for extracting natural compounds from plants. Even if they use some other solvent (water, hexane), the ratio of plant to solvent should be the same.
The results from Google Scholar will tell you if there is a pdf associated with the article. Some may still send you to a link demanding payment. Do not do this. Find another article.
The extraction method is not exact. It might be something like "I removed one kilogram of leaves and placed them in a 500 ml jar with sufficient ethanol to cover them. The ethanol was decanted two days later and the ethanol evaporated to concentrate the extract. ..."
