Hi, I am running multi-level calibrartion to analyse 10 analytes in a sample. Following steps I have performed.
1. I prepared calibration standards mix at 5 different concentrations and run GC for each level with duplicate injection.
2. I prepared my sample and run GC with triplicate injection. I run step 1 and 2 in a sequence.
3. How to generate a report in Agilent consultation detailing the amount of each analyte present in the sample? I mean, how to generate reportsautomatically at the end of my analysis. Preparing multi level calibration, taking average of multiple injections, calculating RF values from linear regression and finally how to relate sample peaks with calibration curves automatically to get amount in the report sheet?

I have never used chemstation with GC ,only HPLC.
I am also interested how to quantify in GC using chemstation ( ie internal standard)

I don't see how to add data for duplicate injection for the same level and then take the average in the software..

I relay wander if it is possible at all. In case that it is possible, for now it looks to demanding and painful (you would need to check every now and than if it is working correctly or if there is a bug). So, I would recommend just to generate the simple report and copy it in excel (which I believe you are doing). From there it is jut meter of devising each compound with the appropriate sensitivity in order to get the concentrations. You may speed things up if you use the templates.
If you menage to do it simply by Chemstaton please put the steps.

In chemstation you need to first set up Quantitation file ( Quantitation Database Globals ) where in you are adding all your 10 analytes and Internal standards ( one or two) with their respective target ions and their RT's . You get an Edit Compounds table . When you finish this it will ask for Update Calibration where you key in all the concentration details for your analyte & ISTD. You have to do this procedure for all your 5 or 6 calibration table. RRF will be generated and you save this as your calibration method ( Target) . You need to run your sample chromatogram in this calibration method and a quantitation report is generated automatically. For fine tuning you can get help from the Enhanced Data Analysis Help. All steps are explained in over there. I would not be exactly explain this to you . You need to try it by following the steps shown in Help
Hi Dusan, yes, you are absolutely true. I am doing as you said. I just wonder why it is not possible in chemstation and whenever i try I get a lot of major errors when I run multiple analytes with overlapping peaks or peaks which are near to one another!.
Dear Amita, thank you for your clear answer, definitely I will try this.
In ChemStation you simply create a Calibration Table and then save it as part of your analysis method. Very straightforward. Be sure and fill in the units requested, set the Rt windows appropriately and any relevant sample ID fields correctly. You can also select to have the system automatically re-inject samples (to acquire replicats) too. When finished, you can use the built-in reports to print out the quantitative results in a variety of formats. Reports can be generated automatically in ChemStation by placing a check in the RunTime Checklist area for Data Analysis and Print Report. Please obtain some formal training in both using the software and also in GC method development (and have someone locally who is experienced in the same, assist you).
I find your above statement most troubling; "I get a lot of major errors when I run multiple analytes with overlapping peaks or peaks which are near to one another". This implies that your method does not resolve many of the peaks to baseline level. If this is true, then your method development is not finished and you need to complete that before you start any calibration methods. The method needs to resolve apart the peaks before the integration software can try to accurately measure the heights and areas.
I agree with William . And even after playing with multiple ramps and carrier flow you do not get few separations ; you can build a SIM method wherein you monitor the unique and distinct ions of the coeluting peaks
