I am using Origin 9.1 software for one way ANOVA of my data. The data is attached, I want to compare the mean using Tukey test and represent the significant difference among the means (of control, F1, F2 and F3) by an alphabetic letter like we see in journal articles. After ANOVA I get a Mean comparison table (attached) with pairwise comparison, but I do not know how to represent this with an alphabetic superscript over the means of Control, F1, F2 and F3!
You just need to use the same letter to represent means that do not differ. Imagine we have three groups and only the first and second means differ.
Mean1 Mean2 Mean3
10 (a) 17 (b) 14 (a,b)
The letters would be subscripted without parentheses. Hope this helps.

Thanks Robert. I am clear with meaning but how did you assign (a) (b) and (ab) for these values? Its based on ANOVA right?
This would be based on your multiple comparison (e.g., Tukey) results. In the example I provide Mean1 is different from Mean2 so they do not share a letter, Mean1 is not different from Mean3 so they share a letter (a), and Mean2 is not different from Mean3 so they share a letter (b). I hope that is helpful.
