I am doing a RT-qPCR of mouse retinas. Each retina is very small. Can I use right and left retinas seperately, or would I need to use both a right and left retina in one mix to get enough sample?
Usually very little RNA is needed for RT-qPCR, but exactly how much you need depends on the target and specific assay, which usually you want to optimize. Through the optimization process, you will find out how many assays you can run with whatever the typical amount of RNA extracted from one retina is.
I am currently working on a project that involves RNA and DNA isolation, but I'm not sure how efficient previous attempts have been. I was wondering if you would be willing to provide any insight into the recovery levels you obtained from retinas.
