Do you mean the telomeric region ? Eukaryotic chromosomes are linear and the ends of the chromosome are the telomeres. Telomeres are different than the rest of the chromosome as they have to manitain the integrity of the chromosome in each replication cycle.

Yes, but since metaphase chromosomes have double chromatids, therefore they have four telomere regions.
