We will be conducting an experiment on the use of Pinus kesiya as an alternative pesticide for Brassica rapa. We will extract the pine needles using methanol, however we do not know how long can we store the extract.
The shelf life of plant extracts depends mainly on the bioactive metabolites it contains. In general it is better to store the plant extracts in screw cap container, under refrigeration. they generally have shelf life of more than six months.
Store methanolic extracts of Pinus kesiya pine needles in tightly sealed, amber-colored containers at -20°C or lower to preserve them for up to 1–2 years. Protect from light, moisture, and air to minimize compound degradation. Regularly check color, odor, or conduct assays to monitor stability.
Methanolic extracts of pine needles from Pinus kesiya can be stored at −20°C in amber bottles for up to 60 days, maintaining their stability and integrity. For longer storage, keep them frozen to prevent degradation of active compounds.
