VERY generally, larger HOMO-LUMO energy gap is associated with higher stability (you can find a bunch of articles on this, particularly context of Aquatic Toxicity, Cytotox, and Skin Sensitization studies). However if you are talking specifically about single electron reactions that produce radicals, i am not sure that this relationship will hold even very generally; the biological/chemical context might dominate.
