Hello everyone.
I am performing the gasificatoin of rice husk biomass with catalyst. After the experiment there is char left which includes catalyst. I want to perform FTIR, proximate and ultimate analysis, X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of char. Is there any approach to separate catalyst from char etc and then perform above tests. Please suggest, how its possible to deal with this situation.

i performed XRF, XRD and SEM without separation of catalyst and biomass from gasified solid products. both materials are completely mixed, may be difficult for their separation

One approach may be to find a solvent (e.g. a mild acid) that dissolves your catalyst but leaves the char un-reacted. Then, wash the resulting char with distilled water, dry and run your characterization tests.
Another approach is, if your catalyst is a natural gasification catalyst like dolomite, limestone or olivine, you can heat the mixture with CO2 to form the resulting carbonate which can be sieved out.
