i want to study if a specific gene duplicate in some genera of a plant family
how can i study this , i know that isozymes can be indication of number of loci of a gene , however if there is another molecular or cryptological technique for that
i hope in a simple method for determination

You can use quantitative PCR, provided the region targeted by the chosen primers in the gene you are studying is conserved in the duplication. What you need are primers for your target locus, primers for a reference locus of known copy number (for some methods it is necessary for both primer pairs to have the same efficiency) and of course access to qPCR reagents and instrumentation.
