Engineers can play pivotal role in hand ti hand with social scientists in planning the strategies for interlinking the economic problems with environmental problems that means disposal of wastes with the extraction of economic benefits through innovation, that is redesigning of the mechanics of technologies with revised models that save the available resources through wise utilization and preservation with the goal of achievement of clean environment in all sectors of human activities.

The businesses in today’s world have become very dynamic. The engineers can intervene in areas where the wastes according to the lean process can be eliminated to give a sustainable output. Executing the whole process in modules will increase the room for customisation of product as well as help us in recycling and reusing the materials from each output cycle. Engineers with the help of environmentalists can redesign the whole supply chain to obtain the so called “triple bottom line “ : Profits , People and Planet
