Hi,

I am curious to know how the mixture properties are calculated in the Eulerian-Eulerian model in Fluent.

I have came to know from some post and comments by respected individuals as well from Ansys Theory Guide that the Mixture model calculates the thermo-physical properties like Thermal Conductivity, Viscosity in the manner shown below:

The effective (mixture) properties are generally defined by volume weighted average as shown.

Mixture Thermal conductivity  = (volume fraction of primary phase x thermal conductivity of primary phase) + (volume fraction of secondary phase x thermal conductivity of secondary phase)

Does Eulerian_Eulerian model performs same calculation as above for calculating effective mixture properties? I am aware that Eulerian model solves set of governing equations for each phase and mixture model solves one set of governing equations for the mixture phase.Thanks.
