Is it possible that diluting the concentration of solute keeping constant pH or diluting the solute with changing pH lead to change of maximum absorption wavelength?
You should give a little more about the kind of solute and molarity M, but as M rises self absorption or self screening or sieve effect or poor photometric linearity may take place with the attenuation taking placenear intense peaks and Lambert Beer deviation from linear trend; as for pH changes upon absorptivity you may refer to any dye that changes spectrum with dissociation like Litmus, P see Chemagine page http://www.chemagine.co.uk/resources/pka.htm
Thanks but I' pretty sure of what i wrote.....The Royal society pamphlet does not treat non linearity but quite trivial solvent effects, and you meant only concentration or pH in your question or I'm wrong for misreading...as M rises (in the same solvent) self absorption or self screening or sieve effect or poor photometric linearity may take place with the attenuation taking placenear intense peaks and Lambert Beer deviation from linear trend; as for pH changes upon absorptivity you may refer to any dye that changes spectrum with dissociation like Litmus,...
