I have a gold coated microstruture (through spattering). After I remove them from substrate (glass) and transfer them onto another glass slide, how can I make them hydrophillic to bind them to the second glass slide? I have already tried using tween2o but it doesn't help much.
Sorry, I did not understand what do you want to do hydrophilic? Please note in some details your experiment
@ Robin thanks, but i didnt underst ur 2nd approach.. i dont want the structure to stick to glass but be free in bulk . regd first approach i used tween20 but it didnt help, right now i hav pegdiamine and i hav to try that on gold coated structures, do u think pegdiamine will work....? and another question.. hw can i use mercaptopropionic acid, i mean the protocol..what solvent should i use ?
@Vardan actually these microstrutures are made from two photon polymerization ( using SU-8) and then they were spattered with gold and now we want them to be freely floating in a small chamber on glass slide..for further use but the problem is these structures are not floating freely but getting stuck to the glass surface and therefore i want them to be hydrophillic, hop u understood the problem now..
Try to chemosorb an hydrophilic polymers on ur gold nano particle
you could use either of this: poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (PDMA) or poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) better still u can also use the 2 polymer as copolymer monolayer protected on your GNP: poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (PDMA) inner shell, and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) corona.
